About

Boris name graphic_4x.png

Boris in the Boreal Forest was created by Drazen and Kathleen Rukavina as a way to spark children's curiosity about the natural environment through adventure, humour and discovery. Set in the boreal forest of northern Alberta, Canada, Boris introduces young audiences to the wildlife, landscapes, people and activities that make this region so special. From forestry and wildland firefighting to farming, outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship, his adventures bring learning to life in entertaining and unexpected ways. With early support from the Forest Capital of Canada initiative in the Mackenzie Region, Boris's adventures began making their way to the screen, opening the door to even more stories waiting to be told. Boris's adventures are also finding a place in classrooms, helping educators introduce students to the natural world in a fun and engaging way. He's even been invited by Alberta Wildfire to take part in the Bull of the Woods event, connecting Boris with the people who work to protect our forests. And for Boris, the adventure is just beginning!
